At this point I have not been able to teach more classes because of school, but I've been working on lesson plans for when I do get to teach them. So far I've made up a lesson plan teaching them on color theory and going further into shading. From what I have heard a lot of the teachers at Pacific Rim are asking when I'll be able to come in and teach. Also, the current art teacher gets her art ideas/lessons from pinterest... So, the teachers are getting antsy from what they have been saying. Hopefully, this next trimester I'll be able to teach them and check up on how they have been doing since the last time I taught them.

During my time in working on the Genius Project I've had so much fun with it and I want to continue to teach kids. We learned about what grit is, and grit is the strength in ones motivation. Well that's what it is to me, but I think that this project pushes my motivation. Thankfully, I know that I could never get tired of teaching kids because it is something that I love doing, especially since I'm teaching them art. My passion. We watched a TED Talk and she explained how grit affects us and how to "get" grit. She said that people with more grit are more likely to get a job or keep their jobs. Also, kids have a lot of grit in their younger years because instead of giving up, they learn from mistakes and keep moving forward.
After watching all the seniors talk about how they weren't able to finish or it never came together. It made me really want to complete my idea because it doesn't just benefit me but it benefits the teachers and most of all, the kids. At this point in the project I have very fortunate to already start my genius project and have an idea become a reality and being able to teach children something that I love opened up my eyes to what I want to do in the future. An art teacher. Teaching the children would have go on during school hours but the summer gives me time to set up different lessons and to prepare for future lessons. I have taught three elementary classes so far and it turned out really well! Soon I will have to present my pitch and I'm quite nervous to show others what I am doing. I'm mostly nervous about delivering it well because of anxiety, but I'm very excited to show everyone how far I've come along with my genius project. All the kids have done so well and I'll admit the first third grade class I taught was a little bumpy but as I continued it got easier and I noticed the classes did better! My plan is to help teach kids helpful and basic art techniques that will hopefully help them in the long run. I've always had a passion for art and I would have loved to learn techniques that would have helped me but sadly there was no one I could go to. The time where children learn the most in their elementary years, so it'd be beneficial to teach them these things. I run into a lot of people who don't know a lot about art. My mum works at an elementary school and one of the teachers she works with asked if I would like to come in on my break to teach her class my choice of artistic piece. I've decided to teach them to make a rabbit on brown paper using a white color pencil to contrast the rabbit from the background.
